John Al King, Sr.

John Al King, Sr., age 88, passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2024, at his residence.

Mr. King was a long-time resident of the Lyman Community and retired after 27 years from Frito Lay.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Melonie "Betty" King;  his grandson, Neil King; his brother, Jack King; and his sister, Jean Dearman.   Mr. King is survived by his wife of 47 years, Peggy O. King; his children, John King, Jr. (Allison), Jackie King, Stephanie Rosetti (& Fiancé David Smart), Tony King (Suzanne), Scotty King (Debbie), Ronnie King (Renee), and Sophia Kimble (Ronnie); 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.  

Friends are invited to join the family for visitation and services on Wednesday, January 10th, at First Baptist Church of Orange Grove, 15486 Orange Grove Road in Gulfport.  Visitation will be held from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m., with the service at 1:00 p.m.

Following services, Mr. King will be laid to rest at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens in Gulfport.
