John Maynard, Jr.

John Joseph Maynard, Jr. “JJ”, of DeLisle, MS, passed away Friday, October 1, 2022, at the age of 83.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Joseph Maynard, Sr.  and Gertrude Sellier Maynard; sister Sandra Moran; brother Rhett Maynard; and niece Gertrude Maynard.

JJ is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years Patricia Maynard; children, David S. Maynard, Karen Pressman (Jeff) and Robert A. Maynard; brother Louis Maynard (Mary); grandchildren, Sarah Pressman, Amy Pressman, Laura Pressman, Michael Pressman, and Aaron Pressman; nieces, Janice Ladner, Becky Seals, Glenda Amand; and nephew Rodney Moran.

JJ was a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, serving as Grand Knight, Faithful Navigator, and District Deputy. He was a founding member of Council 11995 in Delisle. He loved classic cars and could be seen driving around DeLisle in his Model T.

Visitation will be held Thursday, October 6, 2022, at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 9113 Kiln Delisle Road, Pass Christian, MS 39571, from 6:00pm until 8:00pm and will resume Friday, October 7, 2022, at Most Holy Trinity Church, 9062 Kiln Delisle Road, Pass Christian, MS from 12:00pm until Mass of Christian Burial at 12:30pm. Burial will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery, Biloxi, MS, with full military honors at 2:30pm.
