John Robert "Bob" Hinds

In Loving Memory of Bob Hinds
 
    Bob Hinds, a dedicated individual whose life was marked by service and commitment, passed away on Monday, April 8, 2024, in Ocean Springs, MS, at the age of 81. He was born on July 5, 1942, in California. Bob was a proud Civil Service employee with a Bachelor of Science degree and a Veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in Vietnam.
 
    Throughout his life, Bob touched the hearts of many with his warm personality and unwavering dedication to his community. A native of New Mexico and a resident of Ocean Springs for 35 years, Bob found joy in serving others. His hobbies included woodworking, golf and soccer, where he was deeply involved as a referee, instructor, assessor, and supporter of the Oklahoma Sooner Women's Softball team. Bob was also an active member of the First Baptist Church of Ocean Springs, the Gulf Hills Golf Club, and the South Mississippi Senior's Golf Association.
 
    Bob will be dearly missed by his surviving family: his loving wife of 59 years, Fran Hinds; children, Brad Hinds (Laura) and Kerri Hinds; grandchildren, Abby Kate Husley and Maggie Husley; his siblings, Marcia Self, Buck Hinds, Benton Hinds, Glenda Pavia, Tim Hinds and Shelly Young; numerous nieces, nephews, and other cherished family members and friends.
 
    He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Lee Hinds; mother, Juanita Hinds; and siblings, Bill Hinds, Pearl Beal, Nomi Hammons, Wanda Bell, Harley Hinds, Sandy Hinds and Roberta Langley.
 
    Bob's legacy of service and kindness will forever remain in the hearts of those who had the privilege to know him. May he rest in peace.

   Friends are invited to join the family for Visitation and Services on Friday, April 12, 2024, at First Baptist Church of Ocean Springs (602 Washington Ave., Ocean Springs, MS 39564).  Visitation will be held from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., with the Memorial Service at 11:30 a.m.

   Bob will be laid to rest in a private ceremony at Biloxi National Cemetery.
