John Michael Harl, age 65, resident of Gulfport, passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2009, in Gulfport.
Mr. Harl was born in Rosebud, Arkansas, lived in Ft. Wayne, IN, Madison, WI, and Memphis, TN until 1997, when he moved to Gulfport. He served in the United States Army, and earned a Master's Degree in Psychology. He worked as a Case Manager at Gulf Oaks Hospital in Biloxi. He enjoyed his pets and gardening, and spent a lifetime studying religion.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willis Herbert Harl, Sr. and Jacquelyn Hassell Minton.
He is survived by his sister, Mary Boyd, of Memphis, TN; niece, Christina Boyd of Memphis, TN; and aunt, Robbie Ackles of Hastings, NE.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 10, 2009, at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 274 Beauvoir Road, Biloxi, where friends may visit from 12 o'clock Noon until 1:15 p.m. A procession will leave the funeral home at that time going to the Biloxi National Cemetery for graveside services at 1:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to the Humane Society of South Mississippi, 2615 Highway 49, Gulfport, MS 39501.
