John Willis Grimes, age 89, resident of Gulfport, passed away on Thursday, March 19, 2009, in Gulfport.
Mr. Grimes was a lifelong resident of Gulfport. His great loves were his Lord, his family, his friends, sailing from the Gulfport Yacht Club, and the Ole Miss Rebels.
He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Margaret Grimes of Gulfport; son, John (Mary) Grimes of Long Beach; daughter, Margo (Larry) Broadhead of Mendenhall; grandson, Wesley (Kim) Broadhead and Andy (Toni) Broadhead; great grandchildren, Devin Broadhead, Mary Frances Broadhead, Joshua Broadhead, Nicholas Broadhead, and Price Broadhead.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2009, at First United Methodist Church, Gulfport, at 2 p.m. Visitation will be held two hours prior to services in the church sanctuary. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Gulfport.
