Mr. John Edwin Gilbert, age 75, resident of Gulfport, passed away on Friday, August 21, 2009, in Gulfport.
Mr. Gilbert was born in Mountain Iron, MN to the late Carl and Alma Nelson Gilbert. He served his country in the United States Army. He was an industrial arts teacher and a member of the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Gilbert of Gulfport; son, Jeffrey J. Gilbert and his wife Gwen of Biloxi; three brothers, James Gilbert and Arthur Gilbert from Mountain Iron, MN, and Jack Gilbert of Medford, Oregon; grandchildren, Jeffrey J. Gilbert, II and Veronica Romano; great grandchildren, Hunter Gilbert and Gavon Gilbert.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2009, at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd in Biloxi at 11 a.m.
