MSgt John William Friday, Jr., U.S. Air Force, Ret, age 77, of D’Iberville, passed way on January 9, 2020.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John William Friday and Edna Dorothy Hillaire; and a brother, Charles Friday.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Anne Friday; his children, Edna Dean (Brent), John Louis Friday (Kristy), and Cindy Seminoff (Rich); 2 sisters, Edna Dorothy Harper and Georgine Carr; his grandchildren, Christopher Friday, Rachel Dean, Danielle Dean, Brittany Anderson, Jonathon Friday, Jazmine Friday, Brandon Friday, Cassie Seminoff, RJ Seminoff; 9 great-grandchildren, and other relatives and friends.
Mr. Friday served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War and later retired with the rank of Master Sergeant. Following his military service, he worked at Ingalls, Conoco Oil Refinery, Tasco Oil Refinery, and Chevron Refinery. He and his wife were members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in D’Iberville and he enjoyed Ball Room Dancing, Square Dancing, spending time outdoors, and being a handyman.
Visitation will be on Monday, January 13, 2020, from 10 – 11 am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 14928 Big Ridge Road, D’Iberville. A service will be held at 11 am in the church sanctuary. Interment will be in Biloxi National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Salvation Army.
