John A. """"Johnny"""" Davis, Sr., age 84, of Gulfport died Friday, July 16, 2010, in Hattiesburg.
He was a native of New Jersey and served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and Korea. He worked in Civil Service at KAFB for 30 years and he was a member of Polar Star Masonic Lodge #154, Gulfport York Rite Bodies, VFW Post #2539, and the D.A.V. He enjoyed going to casinos and working Bingo at the D.A.V.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Deloris E. Fore Davis, his parents, Robert and Ida Davis, and 3 siblings, Raymond Johns, Robert Davis, and Ginny Mathis.
Survivors include his children, Jackie Davis, Sandra Allen, Jeff A. Davis, Jeffrey Davis, and Melanie Fitts, 2 sisters, Pauline Glass and Dorothy Michealis, 7 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be 12:15 PM Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport, where friends may visit from 11 am until 12:15 PM.
Interment will be in Biloxi National Cemetery.
The family prefers memorials be sent to the D.A.V. c/o Riemann Family Funeral Home, P.O. Box 2188, Gulfport, MS 39505.
