John Bogle, Sr.

John R. Bogle, Sr., age 81, of Gulfport, MS, passed away on Saturday, October 9, 2021 in Gulfport.

Mr. Bogle was a native of Springfield, Missouri and a longtime resident of Gulfport. He was a high school graduate of Aransas Pass, Texas. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, retiring after 20 years of service as an AT1, having served in Vietnam and on the USS America and the USS Midway. While serving, he obtained the Navy Good Conduct Medal (4 awards), Navy Unit Commendation, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal (4 awards), and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal.

He worked and retired after 20 years with Avionics Specialist, Inc. in Memphis, TN; and he enjoyed woodworking, gardening, hockey games, bowling, and he was a licensed general radiophone operator.

John will be sorely missed by his family and friends. The family would like to thank the nurses at Memorial Hospital and Canon Hospice for their excellent care and compassion.

He was preceded in death by his son, John R. Bogle, Jr., and his brother, James Lee Bogle.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Michael Ann Bogle; his daughter, Tina M. McGinty and her husband, Robert B.; his siblings, Judy Lindsley and Jeanette Bogle; and three grandchildren, Travis M. McGinty, Michael S. McGinty and Brandon Bogle.

Friends are invited to join the Bogle family for visitation on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.

On Thursday, October 14, 2021, the funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 8:15 a.m. and proceed to Biloxi National Cemetery, where a Committal service will take place at 9:00 a.m.
