John Ware Baker, Sr., age 79, passed away Friday, June 16, 2017.
Mr. Baker was a Quality Assurance Manager at Teledyne Irby Steel. In his free time he enjoyed gardening and woodworking.
He is preceded in death by his wife LaFerne Hegwood Baker; his father, Samuel Allen Baker, Jr.; his mother, Gertrude Stella Cobb; his sisters, Lillian Frances Bond and Elizabeth Jane Bird; his brothers, Samuel Allen Baker, II and James Neil Baker; and his grandson, Grant Yates.
Mr. Baker is survived by his children: John W. Baker, Jr., Steven E. Baker, and Julie M. (Baker) Yates; his eight grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday June 19, 2017 at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens in Gulfport.
