John Willis Avary Jr., formerly of Laurel MS., and Bay St. Louis, MS., was born in Memphis Tenn. on May 20, 1943, passed away at his home in Long Beach MS, with family on April 21, 2023, at age 79.
John was an active member of the Episcopal church, and enjoyed fishing, golfing, tennis, football " Who Dat", a good cigar and family.
Mr. Avary is survived by his daughter, Sandra Michelle Avary Ford; son, Jonathan Zachariah Avary; son-in-law, Steven R. Ford; grandchildren, Ashley N. Ford and Stepheney M. Ford; sister, Delle Davis; brother, Glen "Pokey" Avary; sister-in-law, Rose Avary; nieces, Margaret Elizabeth Davis Hatton, Mallory Avary, Melissa Heard Avary, Halley Avary, and Sara Elizabeth Ward; nephews, Marc Avary, Mason Avary, James Freeman, Christopher Freeman, Tony Lepold, Darian Davis and Cody Davis.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Onnie Delle"Nina" Lowrimore Avary; father, John Willis Avary Sr.; and sister, Margaret Avary Freeman.
Visitation will be at Riemann Family Funeral Home in Long Beach from 11:30 am-12:30 pm on April 27, 2023. The funeral service will be held at St. Patrick's Episcopal Church at 1:00pm Long Beach, April 27th, 2023 with burial to follow in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens off of Cowan Lorraine Rd, Gulfport.
