John Raymond Alexander, Sr., age 80 of Saucier, passed away on Tuesday, August 29, 2023.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dennis & Jo Burdeaux; and a brother, Maurice Alexander.
John is survived by his wife of 59 years, Beverly Alexander; his children, Dawn Griffin (Eddie), and John Alexander, Jr. (Mary); his grandchildren, Heather Barnett (Justin), Chris Dedeaux (Ashley), Cody Alexander (Cheryl), and Pricille Cuevas (Justin); his great grandchildren Jocelyn Staples, Caitlyn Varnado, Trey Varnado, Mckaela Varnado, Maddox Barnett, Wyatt Dedeaux, Skylar Dedeaux, Savannah Dedeaux, Emma Alexander, Liam Alexander, Zayden Alexander, Makenzie Barlow, C.J. Barlow, and Weston Cuevas; and his great-great grandchildren, Daevion Staples, Amayha Staples, Kingston Varnado, and Titan Hines.
John served his country with honor and pride as a member of the U.S. Navy. His commitment to serving others continued throughout his life as he selflessly contributed to the well-being of his family and community.
John's love for his family knew no bounds. He was incredibly proud of all his grandchildren who brought immense joy to his life. Spending time with them brought him immeasurable happiness, and he cherished every moment shared together.
Friends are invited to join the family for visitation and services on Saturday, September 2, 2023, at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, 376 Beaver Dam Road, Perkinston. Visitation will be from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m., with the service at 11:00 a.m. Mr. Alexander will be laid to rest following services at Saucier Cemetery.
