Joe C. May, age 76, resident of Saucier, passed away on Tuesday, May 12, 2009, in Gulfport.
Mr. May was born in Mendenhall to the late Leon and Amy Conn May. He graduated from Mendenhall High School and then served his country in the Korean War in the United States Marine Corps. After military service, he went on to a 35 year career with Western Electric (a division of AT&T) as an installer before retiring in 1986. He was a Mason, a Shriner, and was an entrepreneur at heart. He was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Major and Maude May; his parents; and an infant daughter, Theresa Carroll May.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mollie T. May of Saucier; children, David M. May of Pass Christian and his wife Donna, Joe May of Saucier and his wife Terri, Sabrina A. Hay of Memphis, TN and her husband Duane, Charlotte L. Moore of Saucier and her husband Scott; 3 grandchildren, Amber Smith, Anthony Moore, Cory May; 2 great grandchildren, Callie and Connor Smith.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 15, 2009, at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport, where friends may visit from 5:30-7:30 pm. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2009, at 10 am in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at Saucier Cemetery.
