Joe Edward Holloway, age 83, passed away on February 18, 2025, at Singing River Hospital, Gulfport, MS. 

He was born in Laurel, MS, to Isaac Newton and Edith Rose Holloway on April 9, 1941. 

He was preceded in death by his previous wife, Barbara Darlene Pebbles, in 1999; his parents, and grandparents, William Tell and Victoria Holloway of Soso, MS, and James and Minnie Raspberry of Glade, MS.

He is survived by his wife, Janis Hagin Holloway; brother, Newton Trent Holloway; sons, Newton Tod (Vanessa) and Dean Edward; stepdaughters, Jennifer Roye (Chuck) and Angela McClure (Luke); grandson, Matthew Tod Holloway, and his grandchildren through marriage, John Luke, Kolbe, and Annelise McClure; Brooklyn, Noble and Channing Roye. 

He was raised in Laurel, MS. He joined the U.S. Army in 1959. During his time in the army, he traveled to multiple places including Germany, Korea, and Okinawa. He retired after 20 years as a Master Sergeant and a Vietnam veteran. He is also a retired IBEW union member. 

He has resided in the Gulf Coast area for the last 25+ years. He and his wife Janis are members of Long Beach Presbyterian Church. He and Janis enjoyed traveling in their RV, participating in “Cruising the Coast” and multiple local car shows, and spending time with their grandchildren. He will be remembered for his kindness, smile, generosity, and immense strength and grace he showed during his battles with cancer. 

A graveside service will be held at 2 pm, Thursday, February 20, 2025, in Long Beach City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society. 

The Riemann Family Funeral Home, Long Beach, is serving the family.
