Gulfport, Mississippi - Joe D. Belk, a longtime resident of Gulfport, Mississippi, passed away on Monday, March 4, 2024, in Gulfport, at the age of 82. He was born on October 19, 1941, in Meridian, Mississippi.
Joe was a proud graduate of Neshoba Central High School and went on to serve his country as a Veteran of the U.S. Army and the Army National Guard. His dedication to his work was evident to all who knew him, as he was known for his strong work ethic and passion for carpentry. He was the owner and operator of Belk Drywall.
Outside of his career, Joe had a love for race cars and enjoyed fishing during his younger years. His vibrant personality shone through in everything he did, and he will be remembered fondly for his hardworking nature.
Joe is survived by his loving daughter, Melissa Belk; his brother, Durwood Belk & his wife Dianne; his three sisters Patricia Ann Williams, Polly Faye Spivey, and Wanda Sue Cockerham & her husband James Earl; and his uncle Gary Belk.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Karen Johns Belk, his parents, J.D. Belk and Corrie McNair Belk, and his brother, Robert Wayne Belk.
Services to honor and celebrate Joe's life will be held at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 11280 Three Rivers Road in Gulfport. A visitation will take place on Saturday, March 9, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM followed by a Memorial Service at 10:00 AM.
Joe D. Belk leaves behind a legacy of hard work, dedication, and a passion for craftsmanship that will be cherished by all who knew him. May he rest in peace.
