Joanne Dolan passed away with family by her side on June 27, 2022 at the age of 75.
She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Ferdinand Dobras and Josephine Kolex' Dobras; and her son in law, Wesley Sheppard.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 52 years, Vincent Dolan; and her children, Justin & Iris Dolan, Natalie Dolan and Bethany Sheppard; her grandchildren, Kadence & Logan Sheppard, Riley, Kennedy, and Magnus Dolan; her brother, Frederick Dobras (Denise); as well as numerous relatives and friends.
Following her graduation at River University, NH, she was a Bio-medical research assistant at Brown University. Joanne was a world class equine enthusiast and loved her horses, especially ZZ. Joanne enjoyed skiing in her youth and spent many hours walking the beach looking for shark teeth. She developed a talent for making jewelry in her retirement. She always enjoyed getting together with her birthday girls once a month to celebrate, but most of all she enjoyed spending time as Nana.
Joanne was not only a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin, relative or friend...she was a wonderful person who loved life and any creature two legged or four legged, with a passion for peace and happiness. She also embraced all that life sent her way with strength and dignity, never whispering a complaint. A true warrior! She has been a mentor to everyone who lives to share her love.
May God hold and keep the precious soul of Joanne Michele Dolan. Until we meet again, she will live in our hearts and memories.
We will be having a Mass for her Friday September 23, 2022, at 11 am, with a reception following in the church hall, at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 545 A1A North Ponte Vedra Beach, FL 32082.
