JoAnne Carlson

Jo Anne Marie Kainz Carlson, age 81, of Diamondhead, passed away on Sunday, March 4, 2018.
Jo Anne was born in Little Falls, MN to Clarence and Josephine Kainz. She graduated from Pierz High School in 1954 and soon after met Leonard Carlson.  Her and Len were married in 1958 and moved to Cottage Grove where they raised three sons. Later they moved to Northern Minnesota before retiring to the South.
She was always an active member of her community and made friends quickly. She was very involved in the Church and had a passion for singing in the choir. She enjoyed playing golf her entire life with all of her friends around the country, but mostly with her husband Len.  If you didn't find her on a golf course you could find her in a casino playing Black Jack or a Slot Machine!
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Clarence "Buzz" Kainz, Jr.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Leonard A. Carlson; sons, Thomas Andrew Carlson (Brenda) of MN, Timothy Axel Carlson (Laura) of MN, and Jeffry Leonard Carlson of Diamondhead; brother, Donald Kainz (Rita) of MN; her only grandchild, Ashley Simat (Chris) of MN; and her granddog, Sam.
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 12, 2018, at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, from 10:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m.  Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m.
