Joan Ann Fossier Schnadelbach departed this life Saturday, February 2, 2008 to enter into the peace and serenity of Heaven. She was a resident of Diamondhead, MS for 14 years.
Joan was born in New Orleans,
LA where she attended St. Joseph Academy. She retired from Whitney National Bank after 28 years of service. As a member of St. Williams Catholic Church, she served as a Eucharistic Minister and a member of St. Vincent de Paul Society. Joan was an avid bridge player with many of the bridge clubs in Diamondhead and also a member of the Sassy Ladies Red Hats.
Joan was preceded in death by
her parents, George and Myrtle Fossier and her brother, George Fossier.
She is survived by Bert, her
loving husband of 52 years of Diamondhead, MS, her sisters Marian Roche of Lacombe, LA and Betty Dufour of Kenner, LA, and her five children, Keith Schnadelbach of Memphis, TN, Cheri Escarra of Slidell, LA, Bret Schnadelbach of Hammond, LA, Bonnie Jordan of Santa Clarita, CA., and Scott Schnadelbach of New Orleans, LA. Joan was blessed with 12 grandchildren each of which she loved and cherished.
The family would like to express a special thank you to all of her friends, neighbors, relatives, and close supporters as she so valiantly fought to survive the ravishes of cancer. Also, a special thanks is extended to the doctors of Ochsner and Mayo Clinics, as well as of Gulfport and Mobile who diligently searched to diagnose the type and cause of the cancer. Lastly, a special thanks is extended to the Gulfport Memorial Hospice employees who gave so much to ease her suffering. Your prayers and support will not be forgotten.
A Mass of Celebration will be
performed in Kiln, Mississippi, at the Catholic Church of St. Williams, 9600 Edwin Ladner Road, off Kiln-Delisle Road, Saturday, February 9, 2008, at 11:00 AM. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM. Internment for family and friends will be Monday, February 11, 2008 in the St. Louis Cemetery Number 3 on Esplanade Ave in New Orleans. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Cancer Society would be appreciated. RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME is in charge of arrangements.
