Joan Nance, age 84 of Gulfport, passed away on Thursday, September 2, 2021.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Owen Nance; her sister, Ann Mays; her brother, Michael Tournier.
Joan is survived by her children, Steven Patrick Nance, Glenn Christopher Nance, Raymond Gregory Nance, Paul Daniel Nance, and Sean Michael Nance; her brother, Frank Tournier; 17 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.
Joan graduated from St. Mary’s Dominican College then attended Loyola University. She was a Cloistered Nun from 1956-1967, and a cashier for many years, servicing the Kiln community. Joan was a devout Catholic who enjoyed gardening and growing herbal medicines, she also bred and raised Chow- Chow dogs as well as canaries. Joan had a deep love for theology, Latin studies, and devoted herself to helping others in and out of the church.
Visitation will be held at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Pass Christian, on Tuesday, September 7, 2021, from 1:00-2:00pm, Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00pm.
