Joan G. Harrod

Joan G. Harrod, age 76, of Gulfport, passed away surrounded by her family on October 28, 2011.
She was a native of Georgia and retired from Walgreens after 25 years of service. She was a member of Grace Memorial Baptist Church and enjoyed cooking and going to Gulf Shores. Joan enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son, Roger P. ""Sonny"" Gussler, Jr., and her parents, Arthur and Juanita Rogers.
She is survived by her husband, Joe Harrod, her children, Darlene Nelson, William ""Bill"" Gussler, Jayna Horne, Debbie Johnson, and Beth Keenan, 11 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and numerous other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Monday, October 31, 2011 from 12:30 - 2 pm at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 19130 Commission Road, Long Beach. The funeral service will be at 2 pm in the funeral home chapel.
Interment will be in Long Beach City Cemetery.
