Jo Ann Nichols

Jo Ann Nichols was born June 27, 1944, in Gulfport, Mississippi, to Frank S. Nichols, Sr. and Alma Albertha Reinike, and passed away quietly at home in Kenner, Louisiana on Monday, July 1, 2024, at the age of 80. She lived most of her life along the Gulf Coast of Mississippi and the New Orleans / Kenner, Louisiana areas.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Albert Frederick “Buddy” Nichols; sister, Geraldine “Jerri” Nichols Krutak; brother, Robert Krag Nichols; and parents, Alma A. Reinike Nichols and Frank S. Nichols, Sr. She is survived by a sister, Anna Frances Nichols of Kenner, Louisiana; a brother, Frank S. “Nick” Nichols, Jr. of Pleasanton, Texas; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

It was Jo Ann’s wish to have her ashes buried together with the ashes of her mother who preceded her in death 19 years ago, in the Nichols Family Plot in Evergreen Cemetery, Gulfport, Mississippi.

If you wish to send flowers, Jo Ann’s favorite was red roses, however, she enjoyed all flowers, just like her grandmother.

A gathering for family and friends will be held from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m., on Saturday, July 13 at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 11280 Three Rivers Rd., Gulfport, MS. A funeral procession will leave at 2:30 p.m. going to Evergreen Cemetery where a graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m.
