James Edward ""Jimmy"" Ward, Jr., age 14, of Woolmarket, joined the Angels as they carried him to Heaven on March 13, 2015.
Jimmy shared his special sense of joy and happiness with others through his fun-loving spirit, which brought so much laughter and so many smiles. The blessing of his joy and spirit will live in our hearts forever. Jimmy never met a stranger. He had a special quality and could sense if you were down and needed a pick-up. He will always be remembered for the way he enlightened the world of all of those around him.
He enjoyed fishing and hunting with his Uncle Michael, his father, and his Uncle George, and the special times they were able to share.
Jimmy was a freshman at D'Iberville High School and was involved in sports, having participated in baseball, soccer and swim team. He achieved his ultimate goal of making the D'Iberville High Baseball team for this season. The one game he played this season will always be known as the proudest day of his life. He was a Warrior...he is a Legend.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Frank Jenkins, Jr., and George W. Ward, Sr.; uncle, George W. Ward, Jr.; great-uncle, James H. Ward, Jr.; and cousin, Allen Keating.
Jimmy is survived by his loving parents, James E. Ward, Sr. and Amy Jenkins Ward; his brothers, Chad McDowall and Travis Ward; his special ""big sister"", Jessie Nellums; grandmothers, Marie Kopszywa Ward and Ruth Jenkins; his aunts, Angela Bosarge (Al), Donna Ward, Karen Korn (John); and uncle, Frank Richard ""Ricky"" Jenkins, III (Anna). He is also survived by his cousins, C.J Fayard, Georgia, Beau, Elizabeth & Tiffany Bosarge, Katie & Megan Ward, Jeremy & John Korn, Amber, Magan, Seth, Haley and Frankie Jenkins; and numerous great aunts, great uncles, cousins, relatives and friends.
