Jimmy K. Sharp, 69, of Panama City, Florida, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 23, 2009.
Jimmy is preceded in death by his parents Walter H. Sharp, Sr. and Estha Sharp of Gulfport, MS.
He graduated from the University of Alabama after playing trumpet in the Navy Band. Jimmy was a Ham Radio Operator, loved fishing and working in his yard. He was a retired Civil Service Program Analyst. He attended Bel Aire Baptist Church in Gulfport, relocated to Panama City in 2006 and became a member of Hiland Park Baptist Church.
He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years Martha Sharp, two daughters Sheryl Slattery (William) of Kingsland, GA, Linda Dunning (Roger) of Lynn Haven, FL, three grandchildren Shawn Slattery, USAF, Kaitlin Slattery of Kingsland, GA, Chelsea Rule of Lynn Haven, FL, one step-grandson Michael Dunning (Sarah) of Panama City, FL, a brother W. Harry Sharp, Jr. (Doris) of Stafford, VA, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, August 27, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Riemann Family Funeral Home on Three Rivers Road in Gulfport, MS., with Rev. Randy Hommel officiating. Interment will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens in Gulfport, MS.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., one hour prior to service, at the funeral home.
