Mr. Jimmie Ordoyne, age 64, lifelong resident of Thibodaux, LA, passed away on Thursday, December 2, 2010, in Biloxi, MS.
Mr. Ordoyne was born in Thibodaux to Adam and Vivian Dempster Ordoyne. He served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Among other medals earned, he received the Purple Heart and Vietnam Service Medal with 2 Bronze Stars. After military service, Mr. Ordoyne entered the field of law enforcement and later retired after serving the Thibodaux Police Department and LaFourche Parish Sheriff's Office. His hobbies included collecting coins and fishing and crabbing.
Graveside services will be held at the Biloxi National Cemetery, 400 Veterans Blvd, Biloxi, MS on Thursday, December 9, 2010, at 2:30 p.m. with military honors provided by the U.S. Army.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 12, 2010, at Thibodaux Funeral Home, where friends may visit from 4-6 p.m.
Memorials may be made to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs - 810 Vermont Avenue, NW - Washington, DC 20420.
