Jewel Ladner

Jewel Aretha Johnson Ladner (Maw-Maw) passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 23, 2014, in McHenry, MS, at the age of 85.
She was a lifelong resident of Saucier, MS until her sickness in 2002, and then resided in McHenry with her daughter, Bertha, and son-in-law, Mark, who took care of her until her passing.
Mrs. Ladner was a homemaker and loved to cook. She also loved gospel music and going to church. She was a member of Saucier Missionary Baptist Church. She was a loving mother and will be missed dearly.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Ladner; 2 grandchildren, Cody and R.W. Ladner; her parents, Zelda Bertha and Albert Johnson, Sr.; her siblings, Albert Johnson, Jr., Olan Johnson, Leroy Johnson, Thurman Johnson, Willard Johnson, Doug Johnson, Lorraine Dodson, and Rita JoAnn.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her children, Frankie (Dot) Ladner of McHenry, Richard (Pat) Ladner of Saucier, Jimmy Ladner of Perkinston, Carol Ladner of Lafayette, LA, and Bertha (Mark) Warden of McHenry; her sister, Nell Irby of Saucier; and her brother, Paul B. Johnson of Gulfport. She was blessed to have 15 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.
The family would like specially thank Forrest General Hospice, Maxine and Liz, and many thanks to Sandra Yeager and Beth Parker who have helped with Mama's care.

There will be visitation at Saucier Missionary Baptist Church on Wednesday, February 26, 2014, in Saucier from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral service time at Noon. Burial will follow in Saucier Cemetery.
