Jewel L. Anderson

Jewel Evangeline Anderson, age 90, of Sellers Community, passed away on Sunday, May 26, 2024.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Olen Anderson; her parents, Ernest Ladner, and Mary Annie Patton Ladner; her siblings, Leamon Ladner, Leona Shaw, Calona Breland, Lona Shaw, Levan Ladner, Francis Ladner, and Edward Ladner.

Jewel is survived by her children, Joy Triplett (David), Patricia Shiyou (Robert), and Christy Ladner (Alton); her grandchildren, Lance Triplett (Brandi), Morgan Chighizola (PJ), Logan Shiyou (Schaefer), and Beth Dunmire (Alex); her great-grandchildren, Bryer, Leona, Linkin, and Jaxin.     

Jewel was a native of the Riceville Community and a resident of the Sellers Community. She attended Sellers High School where she graduated in 1952, she then attended secretarial school in Gulfport. She worked for a loan company, a realty company, Mack Smith shirt factory, Movie Star factory, she was a teacher with Head Start, a teacher assistant at Hancock North Central Elementary School and subbed for teachers at Hancock North Central High School.

She was a long-time member of the Crane Creek Baptist Church. Her hobbies include reading, watching movies, watching football, cooking, and traveling. Jewel was a strong prayer warrior and was intensely devoted to her family; she was their biggest fan and supporter of anything they were involved in. She loved road trips with her daughters, good food, and playing games with the family.

Jewel will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

A visitation will be held from 2:00~4:00 PM, Sunday, June 9, 2024, at Crane Creek Baptist Church, funeral service will begin at 4:00 PM, with an interment to follow at Shaw Cemetery.
