1950 — January 1, 2021

Biloxi

Jessie Anthony Guidry, 71, of Biloxi, MS passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, December 19, 2021 surrounded by his loving family.

Jessie A. Guidry was born in Jennings, LA on October 8, 1950 to the late Dallas Guidry and Marie L. Guidry Broussard.  He was the oldest of 6, who were affectionately known as “the boys”. He graduated from Goretti High School in 1968 before attending McNeese State University.  He was an avid hunter all of his life. He loved spending time in the field with his brothers, cousins, nephews and friends.  He started working at Gibson’s as an assistant manager where he met the love of his life, Donna Dronet.  They were married in 1974 and have spent the past 47 together building a life.  After getting married he began a career in the agriculture equipment industry at Henderson Implement, where he worked for 25 years. In that time, he welcomed his only child, Jessica into the world, she was the light of his life. In 1999, he decided on a career change and moved his family to Ocean Springs, MS to manage Sonic Drive Ins. He spent years running the Bienville Blvd. Sonic with his wife and daughter.  He loved his “Sonic Kids” and was so proud of being a part of their lives. When his daughter married Rodney Brock, he gained a son who he was immensely proud of. During that time, he began welcoming grandchildren into the world.  They were his pride and joy.   Jessie loved “tinkering” around in the garage or in the yard. He loved fixing and building things and tending his pepper garden.   Upon leaving Sonic, he started working at First Baptist Church, Biloxi. He enjoyed meeting all- of the wonderful people there and being part of the church community. Jessie never met a stranger and was always ready to welcome anyone in his home. He loved his family and friends fiercely and was always willing to quietly help out anyone in need.  He was a constant and steady presence in the lives of his family. He loved telling stories and could always be counted on for great advice, a funny story or a life lesson. He will be missed tremendously.
