Jesse "Cartoon" Darden

Mr. Jesse ""Cartoon"" Darden, age 64, went home on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 in Gulfport.
Mr. Darden was a native of Port Gibson, MS and a long-time resident of Gulfport. He attended Turkey Creek Elementary and 28th St. High School.
Mr. Darden worked at Mississippi Power, retiring after 45 years as a Supervisor of the Coal Yard and a Coal Buyer. Over his years of service, he received several awards and recognitions at MS Power.
Mr. Darden was a Mason and attended Friendship Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, watching cartoons, westerns, Matlock and sports.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roosevelt Darden and Mattie Lee Jackson Darden; 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Bobbie Hubbard Darden; 7 children, Roosevelt Hubbard (Michele), Fabione Moore (Zawon), Sharon Darden, Ynis Darden, Shan'kure Darden, Kendrell Darden and Fredricka Darden; 3 sisters, Coleen Darden, Selina Darden and Alfredia Ingram (Jim); 2 brothers, Jerry Darden (Rosetta) and Clark Darden; 13 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and a host of cousins & other loving family and friends.
Friends are invited to join the Darden family on Tuesday, January 13th from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport; and again on Wednesday, January 14th from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. The Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel, officiated by Rev. Freddy Wells.
