Jerry Olson

Jerry James Olson, age 69, of Long Beach, passed away on January 11, 2022.

He was preceded in death by his father, Leroy Olson; his brothers, Danny and Dennis Olson; and his grandsons, Gabriel and John Olson.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Rosalie Olson; his mother, Bertha Lee; his children, Jerry Olson II (Tammy), Nacol Palmer (David), and Malia Williams (Darrin); a brother, Rodney Olson (Bertha); his grandchildren, Taylor, Abigayle, Cassandra, Emily, Cheyenne, Abel, Noah, David, Dillan, and Charles; a great-grandson, Joseph; and other relatives and friends.

Mr. Olson was a native of Broken Bow, NE and was a longtime resident of Long Beach.  He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War and later earned a bachelor’s degree in Business.  He was the owner/broker of Big Team Real Estate.  He was a member of Alcoholics Anonymous where he had 43 years of sobriety, Gulf Coast Networking Group, National Association of Realtors, St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, and the Knights of Columbus.  He was a Paul Harris Fellow with Rotary Club International, and he enjoyed watching the New Orleans Saints, golf, and reading.

Visitation will be on Sunday, January 16, 2022, from 5 - 7 pm at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 19130 Commission Road, Long Beach.  A prayer service will be at 8:30 am Monday at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 720 E Beach Blvd, Long Beach.  Interment will be in Biloxi National Cemetery.
