Jerome Mulhern, a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, and proud veteran of the US Air Force, took his last breath here on earth early Monday, July 8, 2024, in Gulfport, MS. He was eager to run into the arms of his beloved wife Dora, who proceeded him in death, April 29, 2022, and our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was born on August 25, 1934, in McKeesport, PA, and a native of Duquesne, PA.
Jerome's life journey was marked by significant milestones that shaped the man he became. After joining the Air Force in 1952, he was stationed in Germany in 1953, where he met the love of his life, his beloved Dora. Their bond was unbreakable and stood the test of time.
Having retired from the US Air Force in 1976 with a sense of duty and honor that inspired those around him, Jerome continued to serve his country by working with Western Union in Dallas, TX before accepting a position with US Customs in New Orleans, LA in 1977. He dedicated himself to this role until his retirement in 1996.
Throughout his life, Jerome touched the hearts of many with his kindness, generosity, and unwavering loyalty. His military service was a source of great pride for him, reflecting his commitment to protecting and serving his nation.
He is also fondly remembered by his son Ron (Annie) Mulhern, of Deggendorf, Germany; his daughter Donna (Donnie) Vallette, of Slidell, LA. His legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren Taylor Vallette, Jacob Vallette, and Joshua Vallette, as well as several beloved nieces.
Jerome is reunited in eternal peace with his beloved wife of 64 years Dora Mulhern, his parents Francis Mulhern and Elizabeth (nee Moran) Mulhern, and his sister Elaine Miller.
As we bid farewell to Jerome Francis Mulhern on this earthly plane, let us celebrate a life well-lived and a legacy of love and service that will endure through the memories shared by all who knew him. May he rest in peace knowing that he made a profound impact on all those whose lives he touched.
