Jerome Stanley Hagen, age 90, passed away on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at Bedford Care Center in Petal, MS.
Mr. Hagen was a native of North Dakota and a resident of Petal. He was veteran of the United State Air Force, retiring after 23 years, having served in both the Vietnam and Korean Wars. He was employed as a Maintenance Mechanic at Gulf Coast Community Hospital.
He enjoyed bowling (he earned a 200 game bowling patch), dancing (Jerome & Julia were both in a dance club), singing (sang A Cappella in a quartet), playing the accordion, fishing and crabbing on the Biloxi pier. Mr. Hagen was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church.
Mr. Hagen was preceded in death by his father, James Hagen; his mother, Signe Hagen; and his brother, Gordon Hagen; He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Julia Jeannette Hagen; his children, Kenneth Hagen (Flo) of Baton Rouge, LA, Julie “Norreen” Stiver (Joe) of Gulfport, MS, Nancy Gosserand (Jimmy) of Baton Rouge, LA, and Signe Mooney (Allen) of Petal, MS; his siblings, Eddie Hagen (Marit) of Mount Vernon, WA, Lois Loucks of Las Vegas, NV and Richard Hagen of Spanaway, WA; eight grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.
A service will be held in the future to scatter his ashes as requested by our father. We would like to thank Bedford Care Center in Petal staff and the Hospice Care Team.
