Jeptha R. Revell, known by friends and family as Rye, was born in Yazoo City, MS in October 1914. Mr. Revell passed away on Saturday, November 8, 2008, in Florida.
The youngest of six siblings, he now leaves behind two daughters, Deva McQueen and Corliss Johnson. His grandchildren are Forrest Williams, Eva Clark, Kim Marak and Amy Welborn. There are seven great grandchildren in his line of offspring.
Mr. Revell proudly served as a Master Sergeant the United States Army in the Italian Theatre during WWII. He was awarded a Legion of Merit medal. His business in Starkville, MS, was the Lux movie theatre, after which he was employed by the American Lending Library. He enjoyed the traveling lifestyle from Florida to New Jersey. As a self published author of two books, he wrote The Partisan and My Chief. The most recent short story was The Frozen Kiss, set in Alaska. He was still typing into the age of 93. His daughters lovingly remember him as a southern gentleman and gentle man.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, November 12, 2008 at 11:00 am at Biloxi National Cemetery. RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Rd, Gulfport in charge of arrangments.
