Jennie L. Peters, age 85 of Gulfport, died on Saturday, November 1, 2008, in Gulfport.
Mrs. Peters was a licensed cosmetologist for 18 years, was a member of the American Legion Post 119, and worked with the American Cancer Society. She belonged to the Sunshine Guild, and worked in retail for 7 years, at Gayfer's and Sear's. She was also active in the Krewe of Gemini, where she had served as Queen Leda, II.
Mrs. Peters is preceded in death by her father, Madison M. Parker; her mother, Ennis Livingston and her brothers, Donald C. Parker, Jesse C. Parker, Horace M. Parker, and Billy J. Livingston.
She is survived by her daughters, Betty Ann Peters, and Linda Lee (Tom) Ryle all of Gulfport; her sister, Julia Ann Pope of Jackson; her brother, Bobby J. (Bernice) Livingston of Atlanta, GA; her grandchildren, Melissa (Cliff) Horne of Gulfport, Joey (Alisha) Plummer of Gulfport, Steve (Cindy) Savarese of Denham Springs, LA, Greg (Elizabeth) Savarese of Fairhope, AL and 8 great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, November 4, 2008, at 2:00 p.m. at the Riemann Family Funeral Home, 11280 Three Rivers Road in Gulfport, where friends may visit one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Floral Hills Cemetery in Gulfport.
The family would like to extend a very special thank you to Brenda Dubuisson, Vicky Johnson, Barbara, and the entire staff at Memorial Hospital Hospice.
