Jeffrey Amos Mattison, age 84, passed away peacefully at home on August 11, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in New Orleans, Louisiana, Jeffrey attended school in Belle Chasse. He proudly worked for NASA, contributing to the historic mission of putting the first man on the moon. Afterward, Jeffrey and his beloved wife, Dixie, owned and operated Jeff’s Mobile Homes for 40 years until their retirement in 2004. In their retirement, Jeffrey and Dixie spent the last 20 years traveling to Disney, the Appalachian Mountains, and enjoying Caribbean and Alaskan cruises.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew A. Mattison, and Georgie Mattison Lang; and one brother, Ronnie Mattison.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Dixie Ann Marker Mattison of Vancleave; and two children, Toby Waits (Keith) of Saucier and Jeff A. Mattison II (Tammy) of Vancleave; grandchildren, Michael Perry (Jennifer), Mason Perry (Jenna), Matthew Waits (Courtney), Jake Waits, Jeffrey Hayden Mattison, Holden Mattison; great-grandchildren, Levi Perry, Krystal Stuckey, Collin Perry, Landon Perry, Tripp Perry; and two brothers, Brian Mattison (Cookie), Steve Mattison (Patty).

No services are scheduled at this time.
