Jean Clair Coulter Kennedy, 86, of Biloxi, MS passed away Tuesday, January 11, 2022, at The Cottage at Bay Cove in Biloxi, MS.
Jean Clair Coulter Kennedy was born in Covington County, MS on June 18, 1935, to the late Pete C. Coulter, Jr., and Helen Kelly Coulter. She graduated from Collins High School in the Class of 1954. On January 15, 1955, she married Wayne A. Kennedy, Sr. Following her marriage, she lived in many states to include Massachusetts, Indiana, Florida, and California as a dutiful wife to her husband while he served in the U.S. Navy. As an adoring fan of Elvis Presley, she enjoyed many pastimes, some of which included listening to his music, watching his movies, gardening, cooking, and hosting family gatherings for all occasions and holidays. She loved all of her family, but especially doted on her grandchildren.
Jean is preceded in death by her father, Pete C. Coulter, Jr.; mother, Helen Kelly Coulter Cranford; husband, Wayne A. Kennedy, Sr.; sister, Elizabeth Carol Coulter Turnage, and half-brother, Gary Grant Coulter.
Jean is survived by a daughter, Theresa Kennedy West (Danny) of Biloxi, MS: a son: Wayne A. Kennedy, Jr. (Dena) of Saucier, MS; four grandchildren: Angela West of Biloxi, MS, Heather West Cooper (Dave) of Ocean Springs, MS, Morgan Kennedy of Biloxi, MS, and Tyler Kennedy of Biloxi, MS; one great-grandchild: Harley Paige Kizer of Nashville, TN; four siblings: Charles Coulter (Gayle) of Lexington, TN, Betty Norris Davis of Brandon, MS, Frances Coulter Garner of Purvis, MS, and Keith Coulter (Kim) of Hattiesburg, MS.
Service will be held Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 274 Beauvoir Road, Biloxi, MS. Family and friends will be welcomed at 9 am for the visitation with the service starting at 10 am. Interment will be held in Biloxi National Cemetery in Biloxi, MS at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s Disease/Association, https://act.alz.org or your charity of choice.
