Jarrod Adron Deschamp, age 52, of Kiln, passed away on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, following a triumphant win at a horse race at the Neshoba County Fair.
Born on April 13, 1972, "Bubba Jarrod" was not just a horse racer but a vibrant spirit whose dedication and passion to the sport left an indelible mark on all who knew him.
Bubba's enthusiasm for racing horses was evident in every aspect of his life. His recent victory was a testament to his perseverance and deep connection to the sport he loved. Beyond the racetrack, he was known for his kindness, funny sense of humor, and love shared with his family and friends. Bubba's playful spirit and generous heart touched everyone who knew him. His life was a tapestry of exhilarating victories, cherished friendships, and a profound love for the sport that defined him.
"Although he sported a baby face, he rode like a veteran".
His legacy will live on in the exhilaration of the race and the hearts of everyone he touched. His career as a jockey was nothing short of illustrious. We've watched him win and lose neck to neck, nose to nose. "Ride on, Bubba Jarrod, may the wind always be at your back and the finish line ever in your reach."
Bubba Jarrod is preceded in death by his sister, Tearziah Deschamp; grandparents, Oswald and Adrian Ladner and Purvis and Verina Deschamp, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
He is survived by his baby girl, Jarrah Deschamp; his mother, Sara Necaise (Gerald); his father, Curtis Deschamp (Rebecca); brother, Curtis Deschamp II (Heide); sister, Tara Deschamp, nieces, Daysha Wahl (Jeremy), Mariah Necaise (Jacob), Daralyn Ginn (Scooter); nephews, Trey Deschamp (Emma) and Dadron Smith; three great nephews, Jendyn Necaise, Metz Wahl, Krew Ginn, and one great niece, Kendall Ginn; one godchild, Skylar Cuevas; along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and very dear friends who have become family, including his horse family.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 10:00 PM, on Monday, August 5, 2024, with a Rosary beginning at 8:00 PM at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 9113 Kiln-Delisle Road, Pass Christian, Mississippi. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, beginning at 12:00 PM, with a visitation at the church from 10:00 AM until the Mass at Sacred Heart Catholic Church- Dedeaux. Interment will be at Alphonse Malley Memorial Cemetery.
