Janie "Pat" Taylor

Janie Patricia Loving Taylor of Gulfport, MS, passed away Sunday, July 31, 2022. She was born in Gulfport, MS, to Estus Jerome Loving and Ruby Frances Welford Loving on October 14, 1934.

Pat grew up attending Grace Memorial Baptist Church on 23rd Avenue and graduated from Gulfport High School in 1952. She was a long-time member of the American Legion Auxiliary and worked for the Mississippi Department of Health for many years. She enjoyed reading, working jigsaw puzzles and the daily crossword. She loved her family and friends, near and far, and always made people feel welcome in her home.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her two beloved husbands, Wayne Arthur Alwine and James Robert Taylor; and her sister Mildred Huddle.

Pat is survived by her son, David Wayne Alwine (Margaret); grandchildren, Andrew Taliaferro Alwine (Megan) and Mary Frances Demianovich (Mark); great-grandchildren Elizabeth, Charlotte, Mary Catherine, Eleanor, Annelise, Luke, Margaret, Anne Clare, and Andrew, Jr; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be held at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport, MS 39503, Thursday, August 4, 2022, from 10:00am until funeral time at 11:00am.  Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Gulfport, MS.

In lieu of flowers, the family invites memorial gifts to Mississippi City United Methodist Church, 219 Courthouse Rd, Gulfport, MS 39507, or to a favorite charity.
