Janie Nicholson, resident of Gulfport passed away July 18, 2012 at the age of 86.
Janie graduated from High School in Graham, NC and became a resident of the MS Gulf Coast in 1969. She was the owner of Nick and Janie's Barbeque on Highway 49 in Gulfport.
She was a loving mother and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her son, Ernest Cecil Nicholson, II. Survivors include her daughters, Cecilia Merritt (Buddy) of Chesapeake, VA and Cindie Holland (George) of Saucier, MS; daughter-in-law, Peggy Nicholson of Sand Point, ID; sisters, Dot Self of Atlanta, GA and Ivalou Moore of Greensboro, NC; six grandchildren, Lorie, Nicky, David, Jeff, Wayne, and Chavus; seventeen great grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm, with a visitation from 1:00 to 3:00 pm, Saturday, July 21, 2012, at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport. Burial will follow at Finley Cemetery.
