Janie Bruton

Janie Combs Bruton, age 88, of Gulfport, died Sunday, January 20, 2008 in Gulfport.
Mrs. Bruton was born in Shuqualak, MS and was a seamstress at Arrow Shirt Factory for 17 years. She worked with youth and missions at her church, Gulfport Church of the Nazarene. She attended quilting, sewing and canning groups at the Lyman Senior Center, and she enjoyed gardening.
Ms. Bruton is preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, A.W. Bruton; her parents, Walter Jhue and Lillie Dale Combs; her brothers and sisters, Joe, Lamar, and Judson Combs, Louise Peterson, Laura Grace Nester, and Rebecca Jernigan; her daughter, Shelly D. Brown; her grandson, Arthur Dwayne Traylor; and her son-in-law, Charles Traylor.
She is survived by two daughters, Patsy Bowlin of Ocean Springs, and Ella Dale Traylor of Long Beach; a son-in-law, Gaston Brown of Long Beach; her grandchildren, Denise Hager of Biloxi, Kathy Pullis of Woolmarket, Darryl Traylor (Joyce) of Pass Christian, Paula Brown of Gulfport, Keith Fisher of Utah, Troy Fisher of Gulfport, and Theresa Perrone (Joe) of Long Beach; seventeen great grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 22, 2008 at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 19130 Commission Road, Long Beach. Friends may visit two hours prior. Visitation will also be held on Wednesday, January 23, 2008 at Barham Funeral Home, Highway 39, Meridian, from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. with graveside services held at 2:00 P.M. at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
