Janet Dismuke Sommers, age 78, of Slidell, passed away on Saturday, May 26, 2012.
Ms. Sommers was born in Glen Allen, MS, to Cecil Frank and Elsie Carmen Clay Dismuke. She worked for the Department of Wildlife and Fisheries in LA until her retirement. She will be remembered as a very giving and generous person.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her daughter, Janice Worrel of Indialantic, FL; her siblings; and her companion of 25 years, Jack Worgan.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 31, 2012, at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport, at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be held prior to services from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Burial will be at Free Church of God Cemetery.
