Janet Derouen

Janet Marie Borries Derouen, 83, passed away peacefully with her family beside her on Wednesday, October 5th, 2022.

Janet was born and raised on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, where she married the love of her life, August Joseph Derouen II “Auggie.”  Janet was known for her grace, kindness, and love for her family and friends.  Janet truly enjoyed decorating, fashion, and playing cards, especially pokeno, with her best friends.  Janet often enjoyed lunch dates with her children and grandchildren.  Janet was a devout Catholic and long time member of Sacred Heart Parish.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Auggie Derouen; her daughter, Yvonne Derouen Moseley; father, James Borries I; mother, Mildred Borries; father-in-law, August Derouen I; mother-in-law, Eleanor Groue Gum (Norton Gum) and grandson, Brandon Breal.

Survivors include her children, Anna Breal (Charles), August Joseph “AJ” Derouen, III (Annie); son-in-law, Bobby Moseley (Yvonne); grandchildren, Amber Creel Bourgeois (John), Andrea Creel Thames (Jeremy), Kristy Wynn Ripmaster (Cory), Melissa Moseley Brooks (Blake), Matthew Moseley (Amber), Desiree Derouen Aliff (Bert), Delaney Derouen and Derek Breal (Lindsey); many great grandchildren; brothers and sister, Anna Bell Cox (Moochie), Jimmy Borries (Rhonda), Ralph Borries (Shelia), Ray Borries (Elaine); and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was loved immensely and will be missed every day.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, October 11, 2022, from 10 – 12 pm at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, D’Iberville.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 pm in the church. Burial will follow at Groue Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials be made to the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Building Fund, 10446 Lemoyne Blvd, D'Iberville, MS 39540.
