Jan Kathryn Scott Welker, age 60, of Saucier, died Tuesday, October 2, 2007, in Biloxi.
Mrs. Welker was a native of Linden, Texas, and a long time resident of the Mississippi Gulf Coast. She was a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi with a Bachelor of Science degree, and was currently employed as an officer with the Department of Marine Resources. She was of the Baptist faith and was an avid gardener.
Mrs. Welker was preceded in death by her parents, Winfield Scott, Sr., and Mildred Cotton Scott; husband, Barry Hale Welker; and brother, Henry Allan Scott.
Survivors include her son, Douglas Lin Bauman and his wife, Karoline, of Germany; daughter, Samantha (Bauman) DeSilvey, of Ocean Springs; brother, Winfield L. Scott, Jr., and his wife, Lillian Diane, of Biloxi; grandchildren, Kelly Donna Green, Melissa Donna, Daniel DeSilvey, Mandy Bauman, and Mica Bauman; numerous nieces and nephews; and her companion dog, Madison.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 6, 2007, at First Presbyterian Church in Ocean Springs.
She will be sadly missed by all of her family and friends.
