James "Ronnie" Barker

James Ronald "Ronnie" Barker, age 76, of Long Beach, passed away Wednesday, July 29, 2021 at Gulfport Memorial Hospital.
Ronnie was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Barker; his father, Johnny Barker; his brother, Steve Barker; his nephew, Kenny; and his grandson, Austin.
He is survived by his sister, Elizabeth Barker; his children, Robert Barker (Leslie), David Barker, Lance Broadus (Rhonda), Chris Scarborough, Michael McGill, II (Kristen), and Ashley McGill-East (Gene); his numerous grandchildren; and his many friends and family members.
Ronnie was a man that was highly set in his ways and his schedule. He always did the same thing every day like clockwork. He woke up every morning and went to his "morning meeting" (breakfast with the guys), then to work for a while, lunch with the guys, and back to work. He would end his day in his recliner or sitting on the porch watching the cars drive by and every day based off the time you knew exactly where you would find him and what he would be doing. At one time, Ronnie loved riding horses, sitting on Highway 90 or Jeff Davis Avenue watching the old cars cruising the strip, and rocking in his rocking chair on the porch.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, August 8, 2021, from 12:00 PM until 3:00 PM at 128 West 4th Street, Long Beach.
