James R. "Joe" Clarke, Sr.

James R. “Joe” Clarke, Sr., age 85, passed away on Thursday, January 28, 2021.

Mr. Clarke was born on July 11, 1935 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Mr. & Mrs. W.T. Clarke. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and the Mississippi National Guard. A long-time resident of Long Beach, Mr. Clarke was employed with J.R. Clarke and Assoc. Land Surveying, and he enjoyed Model Railroading.  He worked until he was 85 years old, it gave him a purpose and reason to get up every morning live his life. He lived a good and full life. He will be greatly missed by his family and those who knew him.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Ann Day Clarke; his sons, James R. “Buddy” Clarke, Jr. and his wife, Karen, and Andrew L. “Bo” Clarke; his sister, Lucinda Myers of San Antonio, TX; his brother, Joe Day and his wife, Judy, of Gulfport; and his grandchildren, Andrew L. “Drew” Clarke, Jr. and Harry James Clarke.

Friends are invited to join the Clarke family for visitation and services on Wednesday, February 17th at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 19130 Commission Road, Long Beach. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral service at 12 Noon.  Interment will follow with a private ceremony at Biloxi National Cemetery.
