James Randall Yates, Jr. was born June 27, 1958 and passed away on January 17, 2015.
Mr. Yates was preceded in death by his father, James Randall Yates, Sr. USN Retired; his mother, Donna Cecelia Leimomi Kahoopii; his wife of 32 years, Mary Jane Holden of Gulfport, MS; and his older sister, Vivian Lee Lei Yates.
He is survived by girlfriend, Vanessa Giglio, his siblings, Carol Kealanohea (Lew) Slusher of Honolulu, HI, Bobbie Malia Yates of Vancouver, WA, Jean Puanani (Kimo) Hutton of Littleton, CO, and Lorrie Luana (Peter) Robinson of Severn, MD; his hanai brother, Kurt Moore of Honolulu, HI; his step children, Johnie Harvey of Gulfport, MS, and Jennifer Harvey of Gulfport, MS; 13 nieces and nephews; and 7 great nieces and nephews.
He was raised in Hawaii in Navy Housing and then in Kahalu'u, Hawaii. James attended Castle High School.
He was a long time employee of Mandal's Roofing Company of Gulfport, MS, and leaves behind many ""brothers"" and ""sisters"" whom he truly loved.
Services will be held on Friday, January 23, 2015, at 7 PM at Pentecostals of the Gulf Coast Church, 1907 Popps Ferry Road, Biloxi, MS.
