Gulfport

James Louis “Jamie” Trotter, age 42, passed away March 15, 2022.

Jamie was a native and current resident of Gulfport, MS, where he attended Harrison Central High School. He was employed by DSV at Dupont Delisle, worked at Bunny Bread for a few years with his brother, and later as a distributor himself. Jamie’s true passion was being a crane operator, which he did most of his life. Growing up he excelled in baseball, especially on the pitcher’s mound. People would always tell him he was going to play in the MLB because he was just that good.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, James “Joe” Necaise, Bonnie Jean Necaise, Louis P. Trotter, Sr., and Lottie P. Trotter.

Jamie is survived by his parents, Louis Jr. and Sharon Trotter; his children, Asher Trotter and Joseph Trotter; his siblings, Billy Trotter (Nikki) and Bonnie (Stanford) Williams; his nieces and nephews, Jaida Trotter, Evyn Trotter, Jakobi Trotter, and Jakayla Trotter; his bonus family, Layla Hart, Shelby Hart, and Sara Hart.

He enjoyed fishing, watching the Saints play, and spending time with his shadow, Asher. Every chance he got to spend time with Joseph, it would put him over the moon until they got to sit face to face again. Jamie grew up Catholic but always felt like there was more to our God than what he felt there, so he sat on the sidelines. Before his passing, he was able to pray with his brother and ask for forgiveness and ask the Lord to come into his heart.

Jamie wasn’t like everyone else, he marched to the beat of his own drum. He faced many obstacles throughout life and eventually conquered them one by one. There was no doubt that he loved his kids, his mama, and his family. Jamie’s laugh was contagious, and his heart seemed too big for his body to hold. Growing up, his papa was his world and it shattered him when he passed away. Jamie loved hanging with the infamous crew and having a good time. I think we invented putting house speakers in the back of cars because we had about 50 different speakers at a time, just trying to be cool in Monza while riding through Diamondhead.

At the end of the day, he lived his life good, bad, and outside of the norm. He had plans like we all do when we get older but never once thinking it’d be so soon. Jamie would like you all to live with all that you have and be thankful for your loved ones. Money doesn’t make you happy, it’s the memories you make along the way.
