James Rayford Thompson, age 65, of Diamondhead, passed away on October 24, 2022.
James was a native of Alabama and was in the Alabama National Guard for 3 years. He was in automotive management. James played football in high school. He loved the Alabama Crimson Tide football team and could often be heard yelling “Roll Tide Roll”. His favorite memories were dancing with his momma, star watching with his grandma and peddling sweet potatoes with his grandpa. He loved to play blackjack. James was of the Baptist faith.
James was preceded in death by his mother, Doll-Lene Wood Carmel, his stepfather, Joseph Carmel; his father, Ray Thompson; his son, Jonathan Thompson; his grandparents, Nellie, and J.D. Wood; and his nephew, little Arnold Kujat. He is survived by his wife of 12 years, Tabitha Thompson; his children, Haley Thompson; Kaley Thompson, and Parker Thompson (Yahira); his siblings, Renae Tapp (Dale), Tammy Russell, Tonya Kujat (Arnold), Cindy Toche (Bufford), Connie Gibson (John), Joe Carmel (Michelle) and Dwayne “Hoss” Driver; his grandchild, Landon Thompson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be at 6:00 p.m., Friday, October 28, 2022, at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 274 Beauvoir Road, Biloxi, with the visitation for family and friends starting at 4:00 p.m.
