James Austin Teegarden, Jr.

November 7, 1951 — March 28, 2024

Biloxi, Mississippi

James Teegarden, known as Jim, courageously battled the unyielding disease of pancreatic cancer since 2016. Sadly, this battle came to an end early in the morning of March 28, 2024, with family at his side. In his youth he was a fantastic athlete with Baseball being his sport. He joined the US Army after high school and served his country in the Vietnam war. During his service in Vietnam, he reconnected with a childhood friend, Pam through letters they traded as pen pals. Upon his return from Vietnam Pamela and Jim married in 1972 and had two children, Tara and Tonya.  He had 30 years of service as a route salesman with Bimbo and Sara Lee.

Jim was preceded in death by his grandfathers, William C. Lance and Milton Teegarden; grandmothers, Charlotte Broomfield, and Lillian Lowman; and parents, James A., and Geraldine Teegarden.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Pamela Teegarden; Tara Mays and husband, Graham, and Tonya Brown and Gabriel; siblings, Delores J. Teegarden, Lana Teegarden, Roxane Teegarden; grandchildren, Sydney Precht, Austin Mays, Benjamin Mays, Tiona Mays, Nashun Mays, Gabriella Brown and Tarance Brown; and great grandchildren, Emily Precht, Dyllon Precht, and Ayalla Precht.

Jim will be remembered by his family for his unbreakable spirit, his big heart, and his countless “Gems” of wisdom. His family and his country honor his service, He will be missed but never forgotten.

Riemann Family Funeral Home, Biloxi is assisting the family.
