James Ayers Robertson, Sr., age 77 and a current resident of Long Beach, and a long time resident of Pearl, passed away on Sunday, May 22, 2011, in Slidell.
He was born to the late Luther A. and Mary S. Robertson in 1933. He was an employee of Whitehead Equipment Company in Pearl, for over 20 years and was a member of First Baptist Church in Florence. James was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. His greatest joy centered on his family.
James is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Brenda G. Robertson; daughter, Vicki Robertson (Neighbors); son, Jimmy Robertson and wife Stacie; grandchildren, Lauren Neighbors, Erin Robertson, and Brett Robertson; mother-in-law, Alma Galyean; brother-in-law, Butch Galyean; sister-in-law, Molly Henderson and husband Steve; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, as well as many friends whom he considered family. He loved his family and will be remembered as a family man that dedicated his life to the ones he loved.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 25, 2011, from 6pm until 8pm at the Riemann Family Funeral Home, 19130 Commission Road in Long Beach.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, May 26, 2011, at 11am in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Long Beach City Cemetery.
