James ""Jim"" Tunny Roberson, age 84, passed away on March 4, 2011, at his residence in Gulfport.
Mr. Roberson was a resident of Gulfport for 53 years. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy, where he served during WWII and received the Victory Ribbon and the European African Middle Eastern Area Campaign Ribbon. He was a member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America, Local 569 Chapter.
He will always be remembered for the compassion and love that he showed for those in need. He will be sadly and greatly missed by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his son-in-law, David Warden; and his sisters, Mildred Strickland and Polly Landrum Steverson.
Mr. Roberson is survived by his children, Deborah Dawsey and her husband Woody of Gulfport, Beverly Warden of Gulfport, Eddie Roberson and his wife Sandra of Gulfport; six grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren.
Visitation will begin at 11:00AM on Monday, March 7, 2011, at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Rd., Gulfport. The funeral service will follow at 11:30 AM, in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Hoyt Clark officiating.
Burial will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery at 12:30 PM.
